Tyler, The Creator and Drake both released the mixtapes that really started their careers (Bastard and Room For Improvement, respectively) in 2009. It’s funny how the one who samples without permission and got a nightclub shut down due to his drug use has a relatively clean public image, whereas the one who’s straight-edge gets constantly criticized for offensive lyrics. I guess everyone’s now blaming the art instead of the person. Pontiac Sunburst for your time (you’ll probably want to google this one).

Sunburst sounds like a move in a JRPG.

The big difference is that only one of them has songs that can be played on the radio. And that is usually what results in Drake becoming more of a celebrity who can get away with stuff.
Tyler must have amazing self-control with some of the guys he hangs out with. I mean, I couldn’t last five minutes with Action Bronson without indulging in some dabs.

I guess in terms of radio-friendly, if you look back over a decade, Stan made it to radio even with the girlfriend in the trunk bit. Hell, Just Lose It made it to radio which is a big surprise because I didn’t even expect it to make an album (to be fair, it was Encore). Also, I don’t really think Tyler needs drugs.
